Language Barriers….
No one has ever made a truly definitive count of the number of the world’s languages, though the generally accepted estimate is 2,700. India probably has the most with more than 1,600 languages and dialects. The rarest known is Oubykh, a highly complex Caucasian language with 82 consonants but only three vowels. It was once spoken by 50,000 people in the Crimea, but as of 1984 there was just one living speaker remaining and he was 82 years old.
