These are words of expressions that particular person like you use in particular situations. These are condensed but memorable sayings embodying some important fact of experience that is taken as true by many people. Call it Book of Proverbs or Sayings which I encountered and learned in the course of my existence:
A friend in need is a friend indeed. This is very true indeed. The test of one’s friendship is through tough and low times of our lives. We can determine if a person is a true friend or not when we experience real problems and that person is there for you through thick and thin. That is what we call a friend in the real sense of the word when he/she helps you when you are in trouble.
An idle brain is the devil’s workshop. When you have nothing to do or if you are not occupied with something worthwhile, you surely will be inticed to do things badly. One who has nothing to do will be tempted to do many harmful and mischievous acts.
Great talkers are little doers. Ah, this one is very popular here in mina. A lot of them. Talkative, blabbermouth, a taleteller or whatever you call it. We have it here. These are the kind of people who talk a lot and even teaching others what to do but in reality usually do not do much of his task he required to do and oh before I forgot this type also loves to gossip indiscreetly. I know you have your own share of story.
A rolling stone gathers no moss. It only means that when you usually changes job or cannot settle in one place or perhaps often changes your mind, no fruitful outcome will be achieved and that you will never succeed in life and definitely you will never get anything done.
Charity begins at home. Have you heard of Family First? The foremost priority when it comes to helping someone is your immediate family first. Think first of helping your immediate family and that should be your first obligation before thinking of contemplating of helping others. But for me if you can do both, helping your family and others, then go ahead. It is rewarding to help others, believe me! Been there, done that!
I will just add more words to ponder as it come crossways to my life.
